Setting Up Template Tours

This topic describes how to set up a template tour for use over many departures.   This technique is ideal for complex rooming inventory such as ship berthing charts.

1. Add a new tour.  See Adding a Tour.  You may choose to give the tour a Start Date in the past, i.e. 1950, so that tour appears below active tours in ViaTour lists.

2. Add relevant Vendors and Services to the tour.  See Adding a Vendor and Adding a Service.

3. Add brand new Room Categories to the RoomCategory table now.  You can also make changes to the room categories within the Room Inventory later. See Adding, Editing and Deleting Look Up Codes.

4. Create room inventory. See Setting Up Room Inventory.

5. Add tour details that will be true over time such as Capacity, Descriptors, Components, Reminders, Documents, and Files.

6. To copy the template from the template to a new tour: Copying Tour DataUse check boxes to select tour information such components. Use radio buttons to "Replace existing data" or "Merge copied data with existing data".  Click OK to set up new tour or merge the template information with an existing tour.  Finally, review that template dates and details are accurate for the new tour.
